Booking & Arrival

  • What time is check-in and check-out?

    Check-in is 4:00 PM. Check-out is 11:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out can sometimes be arranged at the front desk based on availability.

  • How do I get to The Bower Coronado from San Diego International Airport?

    We're 7.5 miles from SAN and about 15–20 minutes by car. Rideshare drops you at the front entrance on Orange Avenue. We can also arrange a private transfer through our partner La Jolla Star Transportation; ask the concierge at booking.

  • Is parking available?
    Yes, valet parking is available for hotel guests.
  • What is your cancellation policy?

    Cancellations made more than 7 days before arrival are eligible for a full refund when you book direct. 100% of the room rate, taxes, and resort fee is collected as the deposit at booking. Some promotional rates have stricter policies; your confirmation email lists the specifics for your reservation.

  • How many rooms does The Bower Coronado have?
    Thirty-nine rooms across multiple categories, including Premium Kings with floor-to-ceiling views, Bower Queens with two queen beds, and ground-floor Lanai rooms with private patios.
  • Is The Bower Coronado pet-friendly?

    Yes. Dogs are welcome in our Lanai rooms (ground floor with private patios). Up to two dogs per room. The pet fee is $150 per stay, and a portion supports PAWS of Coronado. See our pet-friendly page for details.

  • Is there a resort fee?
    Yes, a $50 destination fee per room, per night. It covers in-room bottled water, tea and coffee refreshed daily, a seasonal welcome drink, fitness center access, and high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the property.
  • Are you ADA accessible?
    Yes. We have ADA-accessible rooms in both our Premium King and Premium Queen Queen categories. Common areas, the lobby, and Dive Rooftop are wheelchair accessible. Please mention any specific needs at booking so we can prepare accordingly.
  • Do you have a pool?
    The Bower does not have a pool. By design, we're a quiet, intimate boutique hotel. Coronado Beach is a five-minute walk, and our partners at the Hotel del Coronado offer day-pass access on a limited basis.
  • Is there a spa?

    We don't operate an in-house spa, but partner with Lavender Day Spa just minutes from the hotel. Our concierge can arrange treatments and transport. We also have a 24-hour fitness center on property and an exclusive partnership with F45 Coronado and B-Long Pilates for guests who want a workout.

  • How far is the beach?
    Coronado Beach is a five-minute walk west of the hotel. The dog-friendly section is at the north end of Ocean Boulevard.
  • Are bikes available?
    Yes, complimentary bikes are available for guests. Coronado is famously easy to navigate on two wheels; the Bayshore Bikeway runs along the bay just blocks from our front door.
  • What's there to do besides the beach?

    More than you'd expect from an island this size. Hotel del Coronado tours, the Coronado Ferry to downtown San Diego, golf at Coronado Municipal, pickleball and tennis courts, vintage boat cruises, and shopping along Orange Avenue.   • Where can I find dog-friendly things to do?

    Coronado Dog Beach (north Ocean Boulevard) is leash-free. Spreckels Park has off-leash mornings. Several patios on Orange Avenue welcome dogs. See our pet-friendly page for current recommendations.
